The big question: are you that smart or am I that stupid? "You're kind of dumb," Maxima once joked. But is that true of our tech-savvy generation? I got into a conversation about that with none other than William de Kaste, education innovation guru and (in student-speak) a whopper of a lecturer at the Hogeschool van Arnhem en Nijmegen (HAN). The topic? My book on the love-hate relationship between humans & technology. It was a conversation with speed and spunk!
Skepticism about technology is as old as the road to Rome. Think of the introduction of the calculator. "Oh my, our kids are getting lazy in their upper rooms!" remember that panic? William and I dove into the evolution of tech in education. From a luxury item for the elite to something everyone has in their pockets. But unfortunately, it's not all rosy. Technology can still create a divide - not everyone has the same opportunities.Your turn: speak up and co-create!
In my previous blog post, I already asked you to think along with my book. So, let's do just that: has technology made us smarter or dumber? Or maybe a little bit of both? High five to William! Thanks for your insights and stories. And to close in style: William, you are anything but stupid. Not normal how not normal you are. In fact, you are simply otherworldly smart!
